But wait, this business owner’s do-good attitude doesn’t stop there, she also serves as @mothers2mothers global ambassador, campaigning to stop the spread of HIV from mothers to their babies. Candice may have one of the most famous faces in the world, but the entrepreneur, philanthropist, and mother of two is proving she is so much more than just a model. Nothing like catching up with your besties, especially when you all live in different countries. So when Candice Swanepoel and I were in town for New York Fashion Week recently, we dropped by Joan Smalls’ place to cook a meal (or let Joan do the cooking!) and catch up. We all grew up as ‘farm girls’ in different corners of the world – South Africa, Puerto Rico and the Netherlands – and I think that’s why we have a special connection, to each other and to the earth.
