Jourdan Dunn and Candice Swanepoel Rally Their Fellow Catwalkers

Fashion week festivities kicked off last night with a pair of dueling parties hosted by Victoria’s Secret models Candice Swanepoel and Jourdan Dunn. At Locanda Verde in Tribeca, Swanepoel celebrated her philanthropic efforts with Mother denim. The South African beauty and the L.A.-based brand teamed up on a capsule collection of denim and T-shirts (the “I Want to Swim in the Swanepoel” style is a surefire hit), with a portion of the proceeds benefiting mothers2mothers. The organization works to prevent the transmission of HIV from mothers to their babies.

Swanepoel, who was wearing a pair of high-waisted jeans from her collection, admitted it was the start and end of her NYFW duties. “I’m running away from the cold tomorrow,” she told Style.com. “I will be in Brazil with my boyfriend for a few days. Valentine’s Day? We don’t usually do much other than say something cute to each other—I think I am all set in the lingerie department.” Martha Hunt, on the other hand, was feeling pumped for her newest role at fashion week: showgoer. “I am so excited for Public School—it will be my very first time sitting front-row at a show. Not that there’s anything wrong with walking in shows—I love doing that—but it will just be such a different experience.”

Meanwhile, Jourdan Dunn and her VS cohorts Karlie Kloss and Toni Garrn partied a little farther uptown at No.8, where Dunn hosted the second Cell for Gratitude fete. The model, Illesteva, and Rochambeau joined forces to support the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America. Dunn’s 5-year-old son, Riley, suffers from sickle-cell anemia, and 100 percent of the proceeds from the evening’s sales went to the organization in his honor. The night ended with Mick Jagger jamming out on the dance floor.
